It is a well known fact that a suddenly applied load generates twice the stress as a gradually applied load. You have all seen this in action, hit something with a 2lb rubber hammer, now try again with a 2lb steel hammer.
The concept of the cush drive is not new and can be seen in many applications e.g. motor cycle rear sprocket, conveyor drive etc. Whilst it is relatively easy to prove this concept in theory we have not developed a "dynamic" test, but have had a number of units out on extensive field test for the last year with satisfactory results.
The Cush Drive has 10 x 15mm diameter urethane cushions which can easily be replaced if worn or harder/softer material can be used depending on your application. The Cush Drive extends approximately 5mm beyond the end of the standard drive flange which it replaces.
Initially the units we are able to supply replace the earlier thick FRC5806 drive flange but if required can easily be engineered to replace the later RUC105200 thin drive flange.
