The R 380 gearbox was introduced in approx 1995 with the suffix J and has now evolved to the suffix L which is used to the present day.

All our R 380 are fitted with our in house shift mods, details in the technical info section below.
The R380 unit for the P38 Range Rover is more expensive than the other types of R380 at £545 exchange.
The core charge for this unit is £350, refundable on receipt of your exchange unit which must be like for like, complete and not stripped and with the casing intact. Surcharges will apply if your exchange unit is not as detailed above.
Fitting Service We are able to offer a same-day fitting service (the work is sub-contracted to a fitting station near Luton). This price is all-inclusive and includes a remanufactured unit, 3 piece Borg and Beck clutch kit and fork, oil, removal and refit, vat and free use of a courtesy car. An input gear is included in the Tdi and the V8 prices but not the Td5 as it does not wear and not the P38 as it has the Borg warner transfer case.

Please note that if you also require a transfer box just add the unit cost to the above; there will be no additional fitting charge for this as the transfer case has to come off to fit the mainbox. If you have a TDi or V8 you can subtract £ 45 + VAT for the input gear as this is included in the transfer case price.
